So my new computer is up and running. It's nice I have to say. I can finally play the newest games in high resolution at the highest possible settings, I also just bought Half Life 2: GoTY Edition. Ahh, it's nice. I'll post pics (of the computer) sometime soon. Anyway, I should have gone to bed over an hour ago.

It's past midnight now, so it was technically "yesterday", but today was a great day. No work, no classes, just a lot of doing nothing and having fun. I woke up around 10, and just sat around until about 2pm. From there I did some stuff, and then went to Cory's. We hung out for a while and then Brendan came over, we picked up Sarah, and we were ready to go on our trick or treating adventure. Also, Josh and Carol met up with us at the beginning and joined our party. We had our costumes and were ready to go.
Afterwords, Cory and Carol left and we played a little bit of Ghost Recon, and then over an hour of Halo 2 on two Xboxes over Xbox Live. Right after that we watched Army of Darkness (the theatrical version). Awesome stuff. Overall a good night. Also, Intel shipped my motherboard and processor, and they should be here tomorrow... woot!

Tomorrow is Halloween, one of my favorite holidays of the year. It's a shame I can't get everyone to go out and have a fun time, but some people have their reasons. But tomorrow I'm going to go trick or treating with a bunch of friends and have a good time. You can never be too old!
You know what I don't like? When people totally ignore you and expect you to do everything, and then when you do something, they complain because you don't do it their way. Except they don't complain to you, they just attempt to hide it from you when it's really obvious they aren't happy, and then you find out about their complaints through a third party source. I have to admit, I'm very glad they took the honest route. And that my friend -- is sarcasm. You know what else grinds my gears? Poor communication. Language is humankind's greatest invention: try using it. You'd be surprised at how people have the ability to react, change, adapt, and come together depending on your use of the English language and your suggestions or comments while using it.
I really don't like it when someone close to me has a big problem with the way I do certain things and doesn't tell me. That drives me insane.
On a much lighter note, I ordered the final parts for my computer. I can't wait until Serenity is complete (Who doesn't name their computer these days, unless you're a ZOMG n00b of course). I spent about three times as much on shipping so I can overnight the package, hopefully it will be here on Tuesday.

...and I got stuck in a huge traffic jam on 81 because people are idiots and slow way the hell down when there's construction. That pisses me off so much. So I call work to let them know I'm going to be late, and they say I'm not working. I asked for today off, but when the schedules came out I was scheduled 11-10:30. Looks like it was changed though and no one told me about it.
At least I got the day off, but that traffic jam wasted a shitload of gas. Slow moving traffic (especially stop and go) obliterates my MPG.

I hate her music so much. As if the modern day R&B genre wasn't bad enough already, she had to go and release her horseshit upon the unsuspecting mainstream American consumer that will buy into anything shitty enough to put on a compact disk. Sure, the older R&B is fine, I have no beef against it. But the crap that's been coming out the last five years is so bad, it makes me want to kick the record companies in the face. The song "Goodies" is the worst thing I have ever heard in my life. I would pay hundreds of dollars if I never had to listen to it again.Current Mood: Hating Ciara Current Music: Ciara - Goodies (Not really)

Sorry Nintendo, but the Revolution Controller is a horrible idea. A TV remote design with two face buttons and a D-pad? Ouch. Sure you've got the plug in analog stick, and the gyro system. But still, that can only get you so far. Establish genres such will be totally unplayable on this system. Sure, it will lead to some original games, but chances are: these original games will play like tech demos and will rely on gimmicks and minigames. You've lost touch with your consumer base Nintendo. And what's the deal with the ugly ass iPod white color? Enough of that shit already.
I feel dirty, four years ago I was a die hard Nintendo fan, and now, they've almost lost me. GameCube's first two years were strong, we got Metroid Prime, Rogue Leader, Animal Crossing, Super Mario Sunshine, Eternal Darkness, Wind Waker, Pikmin, Phantasy Star Online Ep1 & 2, and a bunch of others. But then it started slipping into the world of gimmicks and cheese.
And now... I'm more hyped up for the Xbox 360 than anything. If you go back 4 years and tell me that I would be so hyped up for the successor to Xbox, I would have laughed at your future-self, and then gotten some lottery numbers. Sure, Nintendo is trying to reinvent, but they're reinventing a market that's still on the rise. There is no need to reinvent games, right now we're getting some of the best games of all time. Why change that? The Xbox 360 is everything I could want in a sytem. An extremely comfortable wireless extension to the established conventional controller design, the most powerful graphics (even though PS3 will probably match the Xbox 360 graphically), the best online system out there which is already established with over 2 million gamers. They also have some of the most powerful current franchises mostly thanks to their internal studios and Ubisoft. On top of that you've got a sytem with an extremely innovative dashboard and digital media extender platform. I can't wait.
Sorry Nintendo. I'll still be buying the Revolution, but I hope you get your shit together.

In three minutes, I turn 19 years old. My 18th year on this rock was the best one yet. But I want to continue the trend, and I'm hoping this 19th year will be even better. There are at least a few things I'm hoping for...

I woke up at 11am, sat on the computer for two hours doing nothing. Then I picked up Cory and went to the bank and Burger King where I got a huge ass value meal with a big vanilla milkshake -- and it was all I ever imagined it could be and more. Wow. After the Burger King I grabbed good old Mark V Cordelia: 9, my trusty potato gun. We headed to Cory's, grabbed a bunch of apples off a tree, and launched them into the air. Fun stuff. Afterwords, we just did random crap until I came back home and now here I am, writing this.
I accomplished nothing today, and you know what, it feels great. I love looking back on a day knowing I did absolutely fucking nothing. It's wonderful.

Today was a much better day than yesterday. I woke up and it was cold as hell (and from what I've heard, hell isn't exactly the pizza oven it's been hyped up to be). So I grabbed some clothes and got in the shower as quickly as I could. Okay, so the day started off like crap. But it gets better. Josh (co-worker) is back from California, it's good to hang out with him at work again. Today was a much more relaxed day, which is good, because my dogs were barkin'. I got home, and hung out with James for a while. And then I went online, and that's what I've been doing since. Also, our Commander in Chief's approval rating has dropped to a historic low -- 39%. Haha.
I have the day off tomorrow, and so far, no one's contacted me yet, so it looks like I'm going to be doing absolutely nothing all day. How awesome is that? And no, that wasn't sarcasm. I love doing nothing, since I never get the chance to do nothing anymore. I think I'm going to go to the grocery store and buy a few bags of potatos, and then give my potato gun a little bit of action. Hopefully this won't be the last time before winter, but just in case...

So this week was shitty. I had school all day Tuesday and Thursday. I had about 35 hours of work on the other days. So basically, I had absolutely no free time. And another great thing, this coming Saturday, I am working open to close (that's 9:30am to 10:30pm). This is the day we get in the truck (shipment of stuff) and the day the sales tags for the next week are updated. I am working this entire day, by myself! Horseshit.
I also have a bunch of bills to pay this week, $50 for cellphone, $50 for Xbox Live, $50 for student loan, and $50 for eBay seller fees. God dammit that's $200!! If I still buy that subwoofer this week, there's no way I can buy anything else. F'ing gas prices... I'll just have to bring lunch everywhere I go. No buying anything. That means games, DVDs, whatever. I have to lay off for at least two weeks.
The only good thing that happened this week was hanging out with Susan at the Fair. Except that the Fair is a boring place to go, since it's a big infomercial you pay to get into. Hopefully another place another time, right Susan?Current Mood: tired as fuck Current Music: nothing

Saturday night was fun, I went to a Flamingo Bowling out in Liverpool with some friends, met a bunch of new people, had a good time. Like most times at Rock 'n Bowl everyone gradually loses interest in bowling, and starts doing other stuff towards the end, but it was a fun night. On Sunday, Brendan came over, we played Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike, and then watched Kentucky Fried Movie. Then Chris came over, we played some Halo 2, and then we went to Cory's where we played Ghost Recon 2: SS, and then went to his house and watched Sin City. Those days when you just do absolutely nothing productive, I'm going to miss those when school starts.
Speaking of school starting next week, I have something to say: DAMMIT! THIS SUCKS!

I realize I completely neglect this journal, oh well. The last time I updated this thing was in late June. It's now mid-August. And school starts very soon. This summer started off slow, but the last couple of weeks have gone by incredibly fast. I do not want to go back to classes. My sophmore year of college is the last thing I want to attend to. Speaking of which, I got a letter today saying they unregistered me because I haven't paid yet (oops), so now I have to physically go down there, and re-register for my classes. Dammit. Plus they want me to pay some stupid fee.
First off, I don't even want to be there, I'm only going to classes because it's "the thing to do." I don't plan on sticking around doing shitty Computer Science, because it sucks, and is a waste of my time. I don't plan on making a career out of it, so why am I bothering wasting time and money studying it? Well, because I don't know what the hell I want to do. The only thing that interests me is sitting around hanging out with friends, playing videogames, watching movies, and going out and having fun at places. You can't get money doing that. But no "career paths" interest me at all. I thought maybe Computer Science would be something back when I was in HS, but having never studied it before, I didn't know shit about it. Now I know it's incredibly easy, but also incredibly boring and tedius at the same time. I don't like programming, it sucks.
I'd like to start up my own business doing Home Theater installations and service, but I don't even know where to start to do something like that. And even then, I may not be interested in that path 2 years from now. I probably will, but who knows. I just don't want to do any kind of career where I have to take Calculus, I hate Calc with a burning fury. If I actually tried in the class, it wouldn't be hard, but I just dispise it too much to do so.
So right now, I'm just putting classes on the back burner, and just going because I have to. But all I'm really thinking about, what's in the front of my mind, is finding a girlfriend who I can care for, and cares about me, and playing videogames. If I can fullfill those two, I really don't care what else is happening.
